Career
Player Career
He started playing basketball at Wichita College, where he played for the Wichita State Shockers team. In 1982, the draft was selected by the Detroit Pistons team under the 9th number. After two seasons at the Pistons, he was sold to the Atlanta Hawks , where he spent most of his professional career. He played for Atlanta for six seasons, then moved to the Chicago Bulls , with whom he twice became the NBA champion. In the 1992 season he joined the Greek league team PAOK , in 1993 he played for the Italian club Buckler (Bologna) . In 1994, he returned to the NBA, where he joined the Denver Nuggets , in which he ended his professional career.
Coach Career
In 2000, he began his career in the coaching position, becoming an assistant coach in the Fort Wayne Fury team representing the Continental Basketball Association . In 2001, he joined the Dodge City Legend team of the US Basketball League, where he also held the position of assistant coach. In 2002, he headed the team, in the very first season, under the leadership of Levingston, the Dodge City Legend won the Basketball League championship, and the coach received the title of Coach of the Year of the League.
From 2003 to 2004, Levingston worked as an assistant coach on the Harlem Globetrotters team. In 2004, he coached the St. Louis Flight, representing the American Basketball Association. In 2005, he became an assistant coach to Gary Steelheads, representing the Continental Basketball Association . This year, Steelheads showed the best game since the team was created, although they could not win the championship match. In 2006, Levingston was an assistant coach at the Kansas Kagers, and in November of that year he officially became Gary Steelheads head coach for the 2007 season.
In the fall of 2007, Michael Ray Richardson resigned as head coach of the Oklahoma Cavelry, representing the US Basketball League, and Levingston took a vacant post.
In the fall of 2011, Leavingston became an assistant coach at Marquette College in Michigan, northern Indiana. [one]
In 2012, Levingston became the second coach of the Rochester Razorsharks.
Personal life
In 2003, a court ruled that Leavingston be deprived of his liberty for four months for failure to pay child support. [2]
Interesting Facts
In the 1986 season, the Atlanta Hawks , the player returned to the match despite five fouls. Dominic Wilkins and Anthony Carr could not take part in the match of the season due to injuries, and Kevin Willis , Stott Castings , Recession Webb and Cliff Levingston sorted out professional comments and stopped the performance. After Doc Rivers was forced to leave the site, only four players appeared in the Hawks application. Due to ambiguities in the rules, Leavingston, as the last player to receive five personal comments, was allowed to return to the game, and his team returned a technical foul. [3]
