Biography

Born March 26, 1976 in the city of Satka, in the Chelyabinsk region, in a family of employees.

In 1993 he graduated from high school. In 1993 to 1997 he studied at the Tobolsk Theological Seminary [1] .

In September 1997, he entered the St. Petersburg Theological Academy , where on June 1, 1998 he was appointed to the post of assistant assistant vice-rector of the St. Petersburg Academic Administration for Educational Work [1] . This position is not held in high regard by the seminarians: the assistant is obliged to report to the inspector about all incidents in schools and about the offenses of the pupils. Alexey Tarasov performed these duties diligently and, according to students, even more diligently than it should. Nobody brought specific charges against him, but a significant part of the seminarians openly despised Tarasov, considering him a snitch [2] .

September 1, 1999 appointed teacher of History of the Russian Church at the Regency Department at St. Petersburg Theological Schools [1] .

On December 24, 1999, in the academic church in honor of the Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian, the rector of the St. Petersburg Church, Bishop Tikhvin Konstantin (Goryanov) was tonsured a monk with the name Ignatius in honor of St. Ignatius of the Caves [1] .

On January 2, 2000, in the academic church, Bishop Konstantin (Goryanov) was ordained a hierodeacon , and on April 23, Palm Sunday , he was hieromonk [1] . During the ordination, students began to shout the cry of “ anaxios ” (unworthy) [3] [4] . According to Deacon Alexander Musin , the reason for such hostility towards Tarasov was “petty requisitions, petty sadism. We have a strange situation. If a person is second-born, then he cannot be ordained. And dishonesty is not a canonical obstacle. I personally know the case when he mocked the guys from my class and sent them to wash the toilet during the all-night service ” [5] .

In 2001 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Theological Academy with the degree of candidate of theology for a term essay on the topic “The Doctrine of Faith in God and its Origin in the Understanding of the Professor of the Moscow Theological Academy A. I. Vvedensky” [1] .

September 1, 2001 appointed teacher of history of the Local Orthodox Churches in the St. Petersburg Theological Seminary [1] .
