Nikolai Alekseevich Pilyugin ( May 18 [ May 5 ] 1908 , Krasnoye Selo - August 2, 1982 , Moscow ) - a prominent Soviet scientist, designer , and specialist in the field of autonomous control systems for rocket and space-rocket complexes.

Biography
After graduating from the 9th grade school in 1926, he began working as a mechanic , and then as a fine mechanic , at TsAGI . In 1930, in the direction of A. N. Tupolev , he entered the Moscow Higher Technical School im. Bauman . The diploma project was the device " Girograf ", designed to record the results of measurements of the angular velocity of the aircraft . He graduated from Moscow Higher Technical School named. Bauman in 1935 , he worked at TsAGI , Flight Test Institute .
In 1943, Nikolai Alekseevich Pilyugin defended his thesis. In 1944 he worked in the department of management of SRI-1 on rocket technology. In 1944–1946, he studied the German V-2 ballistic missile from the wreckage.
At the suggestion of S. P. Korolyov, Piluguin in 1946 became the chief designer of autonomous control systems at NII-885 and a member of the Council of Chief Designers [1] . He led the development of an automated control system for a ballistic missile R-1 .
He developed the control systems of the R-1 and R-7 rockets ( Sputnik-1 and the first cosmonaut launched into orbit), led the development of the control systems of many interplanetary stations, Proton rockets, and the Soviet space shuttle Buran .
He was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 7-10-th convocations.
Nadezhda Pilyugina's daughter is a pensioner, Lyuba Pilyugina's daughter, Love - died in childhood
Nikolai Alekseevich Pilyugin died on August 2, 1982 in Moscow , and was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery [2] .
Titles and awards
- Twice Hero of Socialist Labor ( 1956 and 1961 ).
- Awarded 5 Orders of Lenin (1956,1958,1968,1975,1978), the Order of the October Revolution (1971) and medals.
- Winner of the Lenin Prize ( 1957 ).
- Winner of the State Prize of the USSR ( 1967 ).
- Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences since 1958 , Academician since 1966 .
- In 1969 he became head of the department of the Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation .
Memory
The name of the constructor is named:
- The streets in Moscow are named after Academician Pilyugin (See Academician Pilugin Street ) and Tomsk [3] .
- Scientific Production Center for Automation and Instrumentation named after Academician N. A. Pilyugin .
- Research vessel (NIS) “ Akademik Nikolay Pilyugin ” (since 1996 it has been used as a cruise liner).
In May 2008, a monument to Nikolai Pilyugin was erected near the Scientific-Production Center for Automation and Instrument Making in Moscow. The opening was attended by the daughter of Academician Nadezhda Pilyugina [4] . Also the bust of N. Pilyugina was opened in the city of Baikonur .
