Vladimir Aleksandr Tartakovsky (born August 10, 1932 , Moscow ) is a Soviet and Russian organic chemist , academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1992), a specialist in the field of industrial organic synthesis [1] .

Biography
In 1950 he graduated from Moscow secondary school No. 36.
In 1955 he graduated from the chemistry department of Moscow State University .
From 1955 to 2008 he worked at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IOKh RAS); in 1988-2002 - Director of the Institute. [2]
In 2008-2011. - Academician-Secretary of the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences. [one]
In 2009–2010, he was the head of the RAS Commission for the Works of Victor Petrik . [3]
Since March 1, 2011 - Advisor to the RAS. [four]
Scientific Activities
The field of scientific interests of V.A. Tartakovsky is the chemistry of nitro compounds, more broadly, the chemistry of linear and cyclic poly nitrogen nitrogen systems, the development of nitration methods, the creation of new classes of heteroatomic compounds, the development of new ways to use nitro compounds in organic synthesis and to obtain new components of high-energy compounds. Academician V.A. Tartakovsky is one of the world leaders in the field of synthesis and production of high-energy substances. [five]

Recognition
He was awarded the orders “Badge of Honor” (1967), the Red Banner of Labor (1986), “For Services to the Fatherland” III (2007) and IV degree (1999).
Laureate of the Lenin Prize (1976), Prize. A. M. Butlerov (1967), Demidov Prize (1999), Prize “Triumph” (2003), was awarded the Great Gold Medal named after MV Lomonosov of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2011).
