The Red Book of the Amur Region is an annotated list of rare and endangered animals, plants and mushrooms of the Amur Region . The first edition of the Red Book of the Amur Region was released in 2009 with a circulation of 1000 copies. The Red Book of the Amur Region is an official publication intended both for specialists and for a wide range of readers. It contains information about 158 ​​protected species of animals (5 - mollusks, 8 - fish, 26 - insects, 4 - reptiles, 94 - birds, 21 - mammals), 226 species of plants (200 - angiosperms, 3 - gymnosperms, 12 - fern-like, 2 - floating species, 9 - lichens) and 26 species of mushrooms. For each species, a brief description, information about the number and necessary security measures are given. The book is illustrated with drawings and maps of the areas of protected species. [3]

1.3 million rubles were spent on the publication of the Red Book from the budget of the Amur Region. [4] The publication was criticized by a number of experts who discovered errors in it. [four]
