The Red Book of the Amur Region is an annotated list of rare and endangered animals, plants and mushrooms of the Amur Region . It was prepared by scientists of the Amur branch of the Botanical Garden-Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ussuri State Pedagogical Institute, the Annunciation State Pedagogical University, the Biological and Soil Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Khingan State Nature Reserve, the Directorate of Rosprirodnadzor for the Far Eastern Federal District, the Komsomol State Natural Reserve, and the Norsky State Natural Nature Reserve nature reserve, Daursky State Nature Reserve, Ins ituta comprehensive analysis of the problems in Birobidzhan, Institute of Systematics and Ecology of Animals, Zeya Nature Reserve and the State of the Amur Region "for the protection of management and use of wildlife and protected areas." The first edition of the Red Book of the Amur Region was released in 2009 with a circulation of 1000 copies. [2] In this publication, the state of species and populations was assessed in categories combining both the Red Book categories of the Russian Federation and the categories of the International Union for Conservation of Nature , which are correlated as follows:

The Red Book of the Amur Region is an official publication intended both for specialists and for a wide range of readers. It contains information about 158 protected species of animals (5 - mollusks, 8 - fish, 26 - insects, 4 - reptiles, 94 - birds, 21 - mammals), 226 species of plants (200 - angiosperms, 3 - gymnosperms, 12 - fern-like, 2 - floating species, 9 - lichens) and 26 species of mushrooms. For each species, a brief description, information about the number and necessary security measures are given. The book is illustrated with drawings and maps of the areas of protected species. [3]
1.3 million rubles were spent on the publication of the Red Book from the budget of the Amur Region. [4] The publication was criticized by a number of experts who discovered errors in it. [four]
