Thin leaf asparagus ( Latin: Aspáragus tenuifólius ) is a species of herbaceous plants of the Asparagus genus ( Asparagus ) of the Asparagaceae family .

Botanical Description
Perennial herbaceous rhizome plants, 30-100 cm tall. Straight stem ; branches are thin, smooth, deflected. Cladodias are hairy or filiform, glabrous, smooth, rounded in cross section, 0.1-0.2 mm wide and 10-25 mm long, collected in bundles of 10-40. Leaves reduced, scaly, filmy [3] [4] .
The flowers are dioecious, dioecious. Perianth is whitish with green stripes, 6-8 mm long. Stamens 6, shorter than perianth, filaments free; anthers are intrusive, rounded, 4 times shorter than stamen filaments, 0.4-0.5 mm long. Gynoecium syncarpous, ovary superior, three-rooted. The fruit is a berry , up to 10 mm in diameter [3] [4] .
Flowering in May – June [3] .
Distribution and Ecology
It occurs in Asia Minor and southern Europe [5] : from France to Russia ( Adygea , Rostov Region ) [6] ; grows in oak and juniper forests , among shrubs [4] .
Security
The species is listed in the Red Book of the Rostov Region [6] .
