Glass Hammer is an American progressive rock band from Chattanooga , Tennessee . The band formed in 1992 when multi-instrumentalists Steve Babb and Fred Schendel began recording Journey of the Dunadan, their first concept album . Quite unexpectedly for musicians, sales of the album via the Internet exceeded several thousand copies, after which it was decided to continue recordings.

During the existence of the group, many different musicians passed through it, only the presence of Steve and Fred remained unchanged. At the same time, Steve mainly played bass and keyboards, while Fred focused on keyboards and guitars.
The music of Glass Hammer largely reflects the artists' love for fantasy literature and the Christian faith. Glass Hammer was influenced by bands such as Yes , Kansas , Emerson, Lake & Palmer and, to a lesser extent, Genesis .
In 2012, John Davison , while remaining the lead singer of Glass Hammer, also began singing in the rock band Yes [1] .
