Biography

Since 1956, Jan Meixner worked as a professor at the Department of Dendrometry of the University of Natural Sciences of Poznan. In 1978, he began to organize the arboretum in the landscape park "Pushcha-Zelenka". In subsequent years, he was the long-term leader of the scientific council of the arboretum.

He died in 1997 and was buried in the parish cemetery of St. John of Vianney in Poznan.

Memory

  • On April 29, 1997, a memorial stone with a bas-relief of Jan Meixner was installed in the arboretum in Pushcha Zielonka.
