Literary activity
Peru M. Boulton owns several collections of poems and poems, a collection of theatrical plays "A Woman at the Border" [11] and a number of prose works. Soft humor, a clear humanistic orientation of poetic miniatures and poems of the poetess put her among the most talented Esperanto poets [12] .
The publication of poems by M. Boulton in Esperanto periodicals was followed by her debut poetic collection Contralto [13] , published in 1955. When writing the works included in this collection, the poetess was inspired by the rich experience of the teacher and traveler (she participated, in particular, in the work of many Esperanto Congresses) [14] [15] .
From collection to collection, the themes of poetry by M. Boulton are becoming more and more diverse. If in her collection “Particles” [16] , problems that worried a person of the 20th century were mainly reflected, the collection “One Hundred Fun Songs” [17] consists of poetic miniatures reflecting the bright sides of life and distinguished by subtle humor [14] .
The poetry's favorite poetic size is the five-foot iambic . In her poetic works, she actively uses dissonance rhymes , stringing them with whole strings: lumo - amo - komprenemo , mondo - grundo - legendo , etc. [18]
The book “A Woman at the Border” [11] includes one-act plays of various contents - lyrical and tragic, didactic and fantastic. Success was enjoyed by M. Boulton's drama “To be or not to be” ( Esper. Esti aŭ ne esti ), which tells about the terrifying consequences of a nuclear war and staged by the Hungarian Esperanto Theater [14] .
In 1960, M. Boulton published the English Biography of Zamenhof, in which unknown documents about the life of the founder of Esperanto were presented. In 1962, this book was published [19] in Esperanto translation [14] ; historians of the Esperanto movement classify it among the best of the existing biographies of L. L. Zamenhof [20] .
