The first issue of Econometrics was published in 1933 . The first head of the editorial board was Ragnar Frisch , a Norwegian economist who became one of the first winners of the Swedish State Bank for Economic Sciences Prize in memory of Alfred Nobel in 1969 . Frisch was in his position until 1954. Interestingly, the first issues of the now fully English-language magazine contained materials in French .
Econometric society seeks to attract high-quality articles to the publication through the presentation of a special award - the Frisch Medal . The prize is awarded every two years to the authors of the best empirical or applied theoretical articles published over the past five years.
The most cited article of Econometrics at the moment is the study of Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky in the field of perspective theory [1] . The most cited work in the field of social and economic sciences, as well as the most cited in the journal itself, was the article by Halbert White A Heteroskedasticity-Consistent Covariance Matrix Estimator and a Direct Test for Heteroskedasticity [2] .
