The group has its own theater (HKT48 Theater) in the Hawks Town shopping and entertainment complex in Fukuoka . [1] where a shopping complex, a hotel with 1000 seats and an indoor stadium for 35 thousand spectators are located on a site of 180 thousand square meters [2] . HKT48 Theater is located in the Hawks Town Mall. [3]
The group was named HKT48 because Yasushi Akimoto originally planned that the theater would be located in the Hakata area (in the same city of Fukuoka). [four]
