Geography
Located on the Uren - Sharya - Nikolsk - Kotlas R157 highway , on the banks of the Vetluga River .
History
According to the lists of populated places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 3rd camp of the Vetluzhsky district of the Kostroma province . It had 20 courtyards , 53 men and 55 women. [2]
According to the 1897 census , 169 people lived in the village (68 men and 101 women). [3]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Province in 1907, the village belonged to the Shangsko-Gorodishche Volost of the Vetluzhsky District of the Kostroma Province. According to the volost administration for 1907, there were 33 peasant yards and 200 inhabitants in the village. In the village there were two forges. The main occupation of the inhabitants of the village was forestry. [3]
