Andromeda IV (And IV) - may be the wrong satellite of the Andromeda galaxy (M31); however, it has a higher surface brightness, is smaller in angular size and bluer than other M31 satellites. Therefore, it is more likely that this is not a satellite galaxy at all, but a loosely coupled old star cluster or other background feature (for example, a background galaxy not belonging to the Andromeda subgroup) [2] .

History
Andromeda IV was discovered in 1971 by Sydney Van den Berg [2] [3] when studying photographic plates taken with a 48-inch (1.2 m) Schmidt telescope at the Palomar Observatory in 1970 and 1971. At the same time, dwarf galaxies of Andromeda I , Andromeda II and Andromeda III (Van den Berg 1972) were discovered (much more pronounced).
