Aviu-Dumut languages are a family of trans- Guinean languages spoken in Western New Guinea . Six languages are sufficiently learned for a basic description; it is not clear how many and which of the additional names (in brackets) can represent individual languages.

In addition, the languages Cow and Savi can also belong to the Avyu-Dumut family, but have not been adequately classified. Ario (shimagache) was included in the family by S. A. Wurm, W. Foley and other scholars of the Papuan languages, but is not listed in the University of Amsterdam review or in the Ethnologue reference book.
