Asmat is a Papuan dialect continuum spoken by Asmat people on the island of Western New Guinea in Indonesia.

The main dialects that can be considered as separate languages:
- Kasuarinsky ( Casuarina coast), also known as kaveinag (dialects Mathia and Sapan Safan)
- Central , also known as jas-yas or manoe (dialects ajam-ayam, misman, simai-simai)
- Northern , also known as kenok
- Yaosakor
Some of them may be closer to another language of the Asmat people, Chitak , than to each other, but their carriers identify themselves as Asmat . Similarly, tamnim-chitak is closer to asmat than to chitak, but this people identifies itself as a chitak.
