Content
Biography
Born in 1865 in the village of Prrub, Sumy district, Kharkov province, in a peasant family.
On January 17, 1890, he became a novice in the Svyatogorsk desert , and he was finally defined as a novice on March 15, 1895 .
July 3, 1897 takes monastic tonsure with the name Trifon.
August 16, 1897 ordained deacon .
July 13, 1899 ordained to priesthood.
In 1900 , during the Yekhetu uprising , he set off as a military priest in the Far East to accompany Russian troops.
March 27, 1903 appointed Treasurer of the Svyatogorsk Monastery.
For his works, on May 9, 1903, he was awarded a nabedrenny , in November 1906, with a pectoral cross , and on December 12, 1907, with a medal of the Red Cross.
May 3, 1909 he was elevated to the rank of hegumen .
By decree No. 6389 of May 8, 1909, the Holy Synod ordered Hegumen Trifon to join the administration of the Ryasnyansky St. Dimitry monastery. But, due to the severe illness of the monastery abbot, Archimandrite Vassian , he was forced to remain in the Svyatogorsk monastery and take control of the monastery. In the same year of 1909 , after the death of Archimandrite Vassian , he was elected rector of the Svyatogorsk desert.
On October 1, 1910, he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite by Archbishop Arseny in the Ozeryanskaya Church of the Intercession Monastery of the city of Kharkov .
In 1910 he began the construction of the Church of All Saints in the fraternal cemetery. On May 7, 1912, the Church of All Saints was consecrated by Bishop Theodore (Lebedev) .
After the revolution and the establishment of Soviet power, the oppression of the monastery began.
On June 8-12, 1922, during court sessions of the Donetsk Provincial Revolutionary Tribunal in the city of Bakhmut, he was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor with imprisonment for hiding church valuables from being seized to help the starving.
After his release, he was unable to return to the Kharkiv region and settled in the village of Svatova Luchka, Luhansk region .
May 14, 1939 at 4 o'clock died.
Canonization
May 8, 2008 The decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [1] made a decision on the local canonization of the devotee in the Donetsk Diocese , in the Cathedral of the Svyatogorsk Saints ( September 11 (24) ).
The rite of glorification of the ascetic took place during his visit to Svyatogorsk Lavra on July 12, 2008, of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Most Blessed Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Vladimir [2] , in the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Lavra.
