Matveyevka is a village within the Shangsky rural settlement of the Sharyinsky district of the Kostroma region of Russia.

Located on the banks of the Vetluga River .

History

According to the Lists of the inhabited places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 3rd camp of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province . There were 10 yards in it , 45 men and 48 women lived. ^[2]

According to the 1897 census , 139 people lived in the village (55 men and 84 women). ^[3]

According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Province in 1907, the village belonged to the Shang-Gorodishchensky volost of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province. According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 30 peasant households and 148 inhabitants in the village. In the village there was a forge. The main occupation of the villagers was forestry. ^[3]
