"Free fall" ( German: Freier Fall ) - the debut film is a drama of the German director Stefan Lacant . The film premiered in February 2013 as part of the Berlinale festival in the category “Perspective German Cinema”. In June of the same year, the film was presented at the International LGBT Film Festival in San Francisco , the film received mostly positive reviews [2] [3] .

Story
The film tells about the young police Mark, who in advanced training courses gets acquainted with another police officer Kai. Kai is gay, and Mark is a heterosexual who has a long relationship with his girlfriend Bettina. Unexpectedly for himself, Mark realizes that between him and Kai there is something more than friendship. He struggles with his feelings for Kai and with homophobic fellow cops.
The newspaper Die Zeit compares the film with the Oscar-winning " Brokeback Mountain " and at the same time notes that the film is not intended exclusively for the LGBT audience and is intended for a wide audience [5] .
