It is located on the Valdai Upland , 32 km (in a straight line) to the northwest of the district center of Kuvshinovo , on the right bank of the Tsna River , along which the border with the Ostashkovsky District passes here.
The population according to the 2002 census is 317 people, 144 men, 173 women.
History
The village arose in the first half of the 20th century and is associated with forestry. In 1989, there were 490 residents, a timber industry enterprise, an eight-year school, a shop, a kindergarten, and a canteen.
In 1994-2006, the village was a separate Krasnogorsk rural district, in 1997, 182 farms, 427 residents.
