It is located 7 km north of the regional center of Kuvshinovo , on the highway "Kuvshinovo- Esenovichi - Vyshny Volochyok ".
According to the 2002 census, the population is 255 people, 122 men, 133 women.
History
At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, the village of Peny belongs to the Churilovsky parish of the Tysyatsky volost of the Novotorzhsky district of the Tver province . In 1884 there were 57 yards, 324 residents, a literacy school, crafts: blacksmiths, cab drivers, rags . In 1920, Peny was the center of the Peny village council of the Tysyatsky volost of Novotorzhye district, according to the 1920 census - 88 yards, 421 residents.
In 1940, the village was the center of the village council of the Kamensky district of the Kalinin region .
