Investigation
In 2009, police searched private grounds in Isle Pierre to find Nicole Hoher’s remains there. The territory was owned by Leland Vincent Switzer ( Leland Vincent Switzer ), who is now serving a term for the murder of the second degree of his brother. The property was also searched for the remains of other women from the “Tears Highway”, but no more investigative measures were taken in this direction [2] .
On September 25, 2012, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced that the killer of one of the victims was identified - American criminal Bobby Jack Fowler, whose DNA was found on Colleen McMillen's body [10] . The DNA profile was compiled in 2007, but only five years later technologies appeared that made it possible to identify the perpetrator [6] . Fowler is also suspected of the 1973 murders of Gale Wise and Pamela Darlington. According to representatives of the KKKP, he may be guilty of another ten murders [10] .
Despite this, investigators are not sure that all murders will ever be solved. If there are suspects in a number of cases, the police are not sufficiently justified in bringing charges [6] .
