History
According to the Lists of the inhabited places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 3rd camp of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province . There were 5 yards in it , 24 men and 25 women lived. [2]
According to the 1897 census , 66 people lived in the village (17 men and 49 women). [3]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Province in 1907, the village of Maloe Varakino (Pochinok) belonged to the Nikolo-Shang volost of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province. According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 16 peasant households and 94 inhabitants in the village. There was a shoe shop in the village. The main occupation of the villagers was forestry. [3]
