Krzysztof Sapiega ( lit. Kristupas Sapiega ; 1590 - November 27, 1637 , Padua ) - statesman of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , the great capital of Lithuania ( 1623 - 1630 ), the great metropolitan of Lithuania ( 1630 - 1631 ), the great Lithuanian kravch ( 1631 - 1633 ), subordinate great Lithuanian ( 1633 - 1637 ).

Biography
Representative of the coden line of the Lithuanian magnate clan Sapeg emblem " Fox ". The third son of the governor of Polotsk, Nikolai Pavlovich Sapieha ( 1545 - 1599 ) from a marriage with Princess Anna Andreevna Vishnevetskaya (d. Approx. 1595 ).
In his youth, Krzysztof, together with his brother Nicholas traveled extensively in Western Europe, studied in Vienna , Trier and Mainz in 1608 , and Paris in 1609 - 1610 , in Madrid in 1611 . He was also in Rome ( 1612 ) and in Malta ( 1613 ). In October 1613, the brothers Krzysztof and Nikolai returned to the road. In 1616 Krzysztof Sapieha traveled to the Netherlands on his own.
Upon returning home, Krzysztof Sapieha took part in the campaign of the Polish prince Władysław Wazy to Moscow in 1617 - 1618, together with his brother, the Lithuanian substation Alexander Sapega. In 1621 he participated in the defeat of the Turkish army in the battle of Khotyn .
For his merits in 1623 he received the post of the Great Lithuanian substation . In 1623 he was elected ambassador to the Sejm. In 1625 he accompanied Prince Vladislav on a trip abroad. In 1630 he became a great Lithuanian stolnik , and in 1631 - a great Lithuanian Kravchik . In 1632 he was elected ambassador to the convocation diet . In 1633 he received the post of subordinate great Lithuanian.
In 1637, Krzysztof Sapega went to Italy due to poor health, where he died on November 27 in Padua .
He was married to Elzbiet Firlej, from a marriage with which he had no offspring.
