Biography

Born into a peasant family.

In 1927 he graduated from the Agronomy Department of the Kazan Agricultural Institute . Since 1928 - Inspector of the Kazan City Department of Education. Candidate of Agricultural Sciences (1933). In 1933-1937, the head of the Department of Socialist Agriculture of the Tatar Higher Communist Agricultural School. In 1937-1941, 1946-1948, Vice-Rector of Kazan University for Academic and Scientific Work. In 1948 he defended his doctoral dissertation “Liming of the gray forest soils of Tatarstan”.

A participant in the Great Patriotic War , from 1941 to 1946 in the army, he joined the army as a volunteer, was a military commissar, and the head of the political department of the 4th shock army . The war ended in Königsberg .

In 1947-1948, one of the organizers of the University of Tirana ( Albania ).

From 1948 to 1954 - rector of Tomsk University, head of the departments of agrochemistry (since 1948), agronomy (since 1949).

In 1954, he was invited to work at Moscow University, head of the department of agronomy (since 1955, the department of general agriculture).

He worked in the Society of Soviet-Hungarian Friendship, a member of the board of the company (since 1958), repeatedly visited Hungary and the GDR as a member of the delegations, where he made presentations.

He was buried at the Golovinsky cemetery .

Scientific Interests

He conducted research on improving soil fertility, worked for more than 20 years at the field base of Moscow State University in Chashnikovo . Based on these studies, he proposed a new comprehensive method for the conversion of sod-podzolic soils according to a 4-field crop rotation system with a fifth hatching field, combining deep soilless cultivation with soilless plowing. The results of the application of this method were presented at VDNH, registered with the Committee on Inventions and Discoveries.

Academic Work

He taught the course “General Agriculture”, a number of special courses, supervised the conduct of educational practice, prepared 20 candidates and 3 doctors of sciences.
