192nd Mobile Aviation Repair Shop

The 192nd Mobile Aviation Repair Shop ( 192nd PAviRM ) is a military unit of the Air Force of the Soviet Army of the Armed Forces of the USSR . A mobile aircraft repair shop carried out repairs of aircraft and helicopters at their home locations.

History

Unfortunately, the available sources give a different location of the workshop during the stay in OKSVA.

The workshop became part of the 40th Army of the Limited contingent of Soviet troops in Afghanistan on June 30, 1981. [one]

The workshop was located in Shindand from 08/01/1983 to 05/26/1988. [2]

In 1986-1988, at the airport in the city of Kandahar, the workshop repaired aircraft and helicopters of military units:

  • A separate fighter aviation regiment of the 40th Army on MiG-21bis and MiG-21PFM aircraft (since 1980);
  • 982th Fighter Aviation Regiment on MiG-23 fighter aircraft (1984-1986);
  • 979th Fighter Aviation Regiment on MiG-23 fighter aircraft (MiG-23ML) (1986-1988).
  • 280th separate helicopter regiment in helicopters Mi-6 , Mi-8 and Mi-24 (since 1980);
  • Afghanistan 366th Fighter Aviation Regiment in Mig-21 fighter aircraft (since 1984);
  • Squadrons of the 378th Separate Attack Aviation Regiment on Su-25 attack aircraft (since 1984);
  • Detachment of the 205th separate helicopter squadron on helicopters Mi-8MT and Mi-24 (since 1986). [3]
