Biography
She was born on July 18, 1927 in the village of Novotitarovskaya in the Krasnodar region of the Kuban district of the North Caucasus region (now the Dinskaya district , Krasnodar region ) in a peasant family. At the age of 12, Valentina lost her father and, having graduated from only four classes of the village school (current school No. 29), was forced to interrupt her studies and go to work at the local collective farm. During the Great Patriotic War delivered shells to the village of Novovelichkovskaya . When the front moved west, Valentina returned to rural labor. She worked at the Kaganovich collective farm in the Novo-Titarovsky district of the Krasnodar Territory, weeding and harvesting sunflower . Soon she headed the field link. In the difficult post-war years, the brigade had to carry out a daily plan of 150-200%, regardless of its time.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 10, 1949 for receiving high sunflower yields when the collective farms compulsory supplies and contracting for all types of agricultural products, in kind payment for the work of the MTS in 1948 and seed supply in the amount of the total need for spring sowing in 1949, Valentina Stepanovna Chernyavskaya was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the medal " Hammer and Sickle ."
Later she worked on the same collective farm and lived all her life in the village of Novotitarovskaya. She died on May 23, 2013 at the 86th year of life [1] .
