Nancy Stafford was born in a suburb of Florida and first gained national fame by winning the Miss Florida contest in 1976, after which she participated in Miss America [1] . Soon after, she moved to New York, where she worked as a fashion model for Ford Models , and then began her career as a television actress.
Stafford starred in the TV series St. Elsver in 1983-1986, and in between appeared in other television shows. She achieved the greatest success thanks to the main female role in the series " Matlock ", where she starred from 1987 to 1992 [2] . She left the show in May 1992. [3] In the following years, she did not work regularly, and mainly made rare appearances in episodes of such series as Fraser , Babylon 5 , Ambulance , Fair Amy and The Mentalist , and in addition to that, in two thousandth starred in several independent films.
