Men's parallel snowboard slalom competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics was held on February 19, 2014 . All competitions were held in the extreme park "Rosa Khutor" .
2010 Olympic champion in this discipline, 38-year-old Canadian Jayce-Jay Anderson dropped out in the 1/8 finals.
In the qualification, two first places were taken by representatives of Russia Andrei Sobolev and Vick Wilde .
Vick Wilde brought Russia the first ever Olympic gold in a snowboard. At all 4 stages of the playoffs, Wilde defeated rivals for at least two seconds in total races.
The world champion of 2011 and 2013 and the silver medalist of the 2010 Vancouver Games in this discipline, the Austrian Benjamin Karl, unexpectedly lost in the 1/8 finals to Nevin Galmarini from Switzerland. Galmarini then reached the finals, where he lost to Wilde.
