Kriozhog (novel)

“Cryoburn” ( born Cryoburn ) is a science fiction novel by the American writer Lois McMaster Bujold , published in the USA in October 2010 [2] . The novel is part of the Vorkosigan Saga series. The novel was nominated for the Hugo [3] and Locus [4] awards.

Story

The novel takes place 6 or 7 years after the end of the novel Diplomatic Immunity . Imperial auditor Miles Vorkosigan was sent by Emperor Gregor to the New Hope planet to investigate the activities of the White Chrysanthemum Corporation, which is engaged in freezing people. They are trying to kidnap Miles on this planet, but he manages to escape through the underground tunnels, where he meets a boy named Gene. This meeting was the first step towards success in Miles’s investigation.

The author read the first 2 chapters of the novel at the World Science Fiction Convention in August 2008. Since August 3, 2010, the electronic version of the novel was distributed through the Webscriptions system [5] . In paper form in the United States, the novel was published in October 2010 [2] . In 2012, the novel was published in Italian under the title “ La criocamera di Vorkosigan ” [6] .
