The Swedish National Criminal Laboratory ( Swede. Statens kriminaltekniska laboratorium , SKL ) is the Swedish state agency of the Ministry of Justice of Sweden . The task of the laboratory is to assist the Swedish Police in the investigation of crimes. The laboratory studies material evidence obtained from crime scenes, conducts examinations in various fields, establishes links between objects, persons and places.

Structure
The laboratory is subordinate to the National Police Department .
The laboratory is headed by the head of the laboratory, which reports to the administration and research units [2] :
- Department of Biological Research;
- strong substance analysis department;
- Department of Chemical and Technical Analysis;
- Department of documentation and information technology.
In addition to the analysis of material evidence and expertise, the laboratory is engaged in research in the criminal field and staff training. The laboratory employs 290 people [1] .
