The village is located directly on the federal highway P104 in the section Rybinsk - Poshekhonye . The nearest village towards Rybinsk is Milyushino , towards Poshekhonya - Rokanovo . Between Milyushino and the village of Lyaga, the Volya River flows in the north-west direction, which flows into the Rybinsk Reservoir , the shore of which is located west of Lyag, at a distance of about 1 km. The village has a main street oriented along the road. Between the village and the Volga coast is the village of Kostino . To the south-east from the village of Lyaga, up the Volya River, stands the village of Bolshoi Pogorelovo [2] .
The village of Lyaga is indicated on the plan of the General Land Survey of Rybinsk Uyezd in 1792.
As of January 1, 2007, there were 29 permanent residents in the village [3] . A post office located in Milyushino serves 33 houses in the village [4] .
