History

In 1838, Scottish settlers founded the school Saint Andrew's Scots School ("Scottish School of St. Andrew "). The Scots wanted to educate their children in their native language, faith and culture. Initially, only boys were recruited to school, but after a while this restriction was lifted.

In 1911, a sports club was created in which students, graduates and friends of the school could engage. The main activities of the club were rugby , field hockey , swimming , football and sailing . Thus, rugby became one of the first sports practiced in the club. However, the first game of rugby players at the highest level took place almost a hundred years later: in 2009 the club entered the major league of the Buenos Aires championship, defeating the university team from La Plata (18: 5) [2] [3] .

Thanks to its Scottish heritage, the club is one of the few South American organizations to have their own tartan . A modification of the saltedra , the Scottish flag, is present on the emblem of the club and school.
