Christoph Lanz (1959) is Managing Director of the Global Multimedia Deutsche Welle (DW), German Foreign Broadcasting. After graduating from university, he began his career as a journalist at Südwestfunk as a reporter and editor in Baden-Baden.
Career
In 1984, he went to New York , where he worked for RTL and ARD as a free radio correspondent. Then, from 1985 to 1989, he joined RIAS 2, a radio station in West Berlin, first served as editor in chief, and then became deputy director of the program. In 1989, he changed the status of the station to the FFH commercial radio in Frankfurt am Main , where he took an active part as deputy director of the program and chief editor. At this time, FFH radio took over as the market leader in radio in the Hesse region. After the peaceful revolution in 1989, Lanz became the chief editor of DW-television. Mr. Lanz greatly influenced the early years of international television in Germany. In 2002, he was appointed Managing Director of Deutsche Welle Television. Moreover, he lectures at several universities.
