Biography

Maria Burmaka was born on June 16, 1970 in Kharkov in a family of teachers. She graduated from music school in guitar. In 1987 she entered the philological faculty of Kharkov University. As a student, she began to write songs. Maria Burmaka is the cousin of Yuri Pavlenko .

Her victory at the festival "Preserved" in Lutsk in 1989 and at Chervona Ruta (second prize) gave rise to her musical career. The company "Kobza" released a cassette of her songs called "Oh, don't bloom, spring ...". In the fall of 1991, M. Burmaka recorded her first Maria CD with new age songs at the Canadian company Choral. This year, the singer moved to Kiev. She began to collaborate fruitfully with composer and arranger Nikolai Pavlov. In 1993, M. Burmaka won the charts “12 minus 2” on the radio “Promin” (the songs “Lose your name”, “One word for a blessing”, “Walking a dream” and “I love your crooks”). In the fall of 1994, the singer presented her second compact - "Lost Nadiya."

During the 1990s, M. Burmaka worked as a TV presenter on the STB channel (KіN, Rating, Hto Tam, Kettle) and UT-1 (Create Yourself).

In 1997, M. Burmaka received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine [1] . Over the next years she recorded albums: “I Love Again” (1997), “IZ Yangolom on My Shoulders” (2001), “MIA” (2002), a remix version of “I AM” (2003), “No. 9” (2004) , “Come on! Naikrashche "(2004).

Songs of M. Burmaki gained popularity abroad. The hits “Hto I am Taka є” and “Sunshine in the Sky” were heard in Polish radio stations. However, the attempt to publish a collection of songs in Polish was never realized.

December 2004 - the release of the CD “Idem”, a collection of selected songs from 10 albums.

During 2005, Maria Burmaka recorded several English versions of her songs and shot new videos, gave charity concerts in North America. She was invited with a lecture to the professorship club at Columbia University (New York). The singer performed at Verkhovyna, the largest Ukrainian festival in the USA, and the Lemkovskaya Vatra festival in Poland. She took an active part in the Do Not Sell social campaign, the HIV / AIDS Alliance and the Network of People Living with HIV charity events (2006).

In 2007, Maria Burmaka was awarded the Order of Princess Olga of the III degree [2] . She released the MP3 collection on two discs, “All Albums of Maria Burmaki,” and in 2008, the CD “Soundtracks”. The album includes the songs “Forgive”, “Not Because,” “They Failed to Say Goodbye,” “Happy Birthday, Sun!”

In 2008, she was a member of the jury of the literary prize Book of Rock Bi-Bi-Si.

In 2009, Maria Burmaka was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of Ukraine" [3] .

2010 - recording of the joint album “Don't laugh at me / as part of the Operation Respect campaign with Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary). And in 2011, a joint performance at the Soyuzivka festival.

Since May 2011 - Maria Burmaka, the host of the author's heading “Music of Breakfast” on the channel “1 + 1”. And since September 2011 - the host of the project “Adult Music with Maria Burmakoy” on TVi.

She was married to Dmitry Nebesiychuk (1993). Daughter of Yarin (1995). Vitaly Pastukh - manager and producer of the singer.
