History

The village of Shiryaevo was founded in the first quarter of the 18th century (between 1725-1730 ) by the Ukrainian Cossacks of the Ostrogozhsky regiment . According to the data of 1773, it was a military settlement that was part of the Melovatsk commissar of Ostrogozh province. In 1776, experiments were carried out in the village on the introduction of potatoes. 400 potatoes were planted, 500 were received. Peasants stubbornly proved that the Russian soil was unsuitable for this "overseas" plant. They asked not to force them to do such experiments. Later, potatoes inoculated here, as in other places. The description of the Bogucharsky Uyezd in 1779 states that the settlement of Shiryaev had 215 courtyards of state military inhabitants, a church, 2 farms in the Krinichny ravine. According to the data of 1832 , 16 Cossacks of the regimental service and 188 Cherkasy assistants lived in the town of Shiryaev. In 1803 , the Nikolaevskaya church was built (Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker).

In 1858 , there were 712 households with a population of 3,133 people. In 1867 , the All Saints Church (All Saints Church) was built. In 1877 , there was a school, 50 students were trained in it. By 1916 , there were 1,553 yards, 9,465 people.

During the Civil War, the village of Shiryaevo 6 times passed from white to red and vice versa. Many residents with. Shiryaevo fought on the battlefields of the Civil War. Among them, Foka Fedorovich Puzenko, whom in 1918 the members of the Denikin’s detachment located at the headquarters located in the Klevantsev’s house were hacked (a monument to F.F. Puzenko has been erected in the village).

In 1928 , the Kalacheevsky district was formed, which included the territory of the Shiryaevsky rural settlement. In the mid 20-ies formed agricultural partnerships: "Love for work", them. Lenin, “Colonist-1”, “Colonist-2”, “High”, “Otradnoe”. November 28, 1929 of them organize the agricultural cartel named. Budyonny. On January 12, 1930 , on the basis of agricultural associations in the village, collective farms named after Lenin and Voroshilov were formed, which on February 28 of the same year were united into one farm - the collective farm named after Lenin. In 1934 , after the collective farms were disaggregated from the collective farm named after Lenin, farms were formed: the name of Lenin, the name of Molotov, the name of the 17th Party Congress and the name of Zhigulin. Later, the Zhigulin collective farm was renamed the Red October collective farm. In the 60s, one of four collective farms was formed - named after Lenin. Later it was divided into the collective farm named after Lenin and the collective farm Komsomolets. Currently, there are no collective farms on the territory of a rural settlement.
