Toke Talagi is the Prime Minister of Niue , elected by the local Assembly on June 19, 2008.

Biography
During the premiership of Toque Talagi, on the initiative of Niue, in November 2011, the Commonwealth of Leaders of Polynesian States was created. The purpose of this organization was the cooperation of states located in Polynesia in the field of trade, investment, culture, education. At various times, Talagi served as Minister of Finance, Minister of Education and Deputy Prime Minister. There are no political parties in Niue, so Talagi is an independent candidate. Toke Talagi is also president of the Niue Rugby Union. In 2008, he chaired the Pacific Islands Forum. And in May of the following year, Talagi co-chaired with Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso at the Fifth Pacific Heads Meeting, held in Hokkaido.
