Biography
Came from the most aristocratic branch of the ancient noble family Chelishchevs . The son of General Alexander Ivanovich Chelishchev (d. 1821) from his marriage with Maria Nikolaevna Ogareva (1756-1842). He studied at the Page Corps . In service since August 16, 1800 [1] , was released from there on October 10, 1800 as a lieutenant in the Life Guards Semyonovsky Regiment .
He participated in the campaigns of 1805 and 1806 - 1807 . In 1805 he was promoted to headquarters captain; was wounded and shell-shocked in the battle of Austerlitz ; for the difference in this battle he was awarded the Golden Sword "For Courage". In 1807, he participated in battles near Guttstadt , Heilsberg , as well as near Friedland , where he was again wounded, shell-shocked and received the rank of captain (August 17), the Order of St. Vladimir, 4th Art. (January 2, 1808), and on January 23, 1808 he was promoted to colonel.
Due to injuries, he was dismissed in 1811 from military service with the rank of state councilor and appointed to the 1st Department of the Senate ; in 1818 he was appointed chief prosecutor of the 3rd Department of the Senate; since August 11, 1818 - current state councilor ; since August 22, 1826, Privy Councilor [1] with the appointment of a senator. From September 12, 1826 he was present in the 2nd Department of the Senate, from March 18, 1831 - in the 1st Department. In 1828 he was a member of the committee for consideration of the Chancellery of the Complete Codes of Civil and Criminal Laws drawn up by the 2nd Division of the Own E. I.
In 1834, he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle , in 1838 St. Alexander Nevsky , and on August 4, 1842 he was promoted to acting privy secret adviser. On January 1, 1853, he received the Order of St. Vladimir of the 1st degree, and on December 31 of the same year he was appointed a member of the State Council for the Department of Civil and Spiritual Affairs.

Family
Wife (since 1811) - Princess Maria Mikhailovna Khovanskaya (11.30.1790-15.01.1846), granddaughter F. M. Kolokoltsova , daughter of Prince Mikhail Sergeyevich Khovansky (1764-1829) from his marriage with Evdokia Fedorovna Kolokoltsova (1772-1791) . She was buried in the cemetery of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra. Married:

- Alexander (06.10.1813-16.01.1836), lieutenant of the Cavalier Guard regiment.
- Mikhail (13.8.1815-29.01.1883), Privy Councilor, Hoffmeister, grandfather of V.N. Lvov and N.N. Lvov .
- Nicholas [2] (29.6.1817-1903), coffer.
- Andrei (03.9.1819-1902), a real state councilor, was married (01/17/1843) to the widow of General I.P. Veshnyakov .
