Crystal City (subway station)

Crystal City ( eng. Crystal City ) is an underground interchange station of the Washington Metro on the Blue Line and the Yellow Line , as well as the Virginia Railway Express on the Fredericksburg [1] and Manassas [2] lines. It is represented by two side platforms. The station is served by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority . Located in Crystal City [3] on 18th Street between Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway and South Bell Street. Passenger traffic - 7.599 million (for 2007) [4] .

The station was opened on July 1, 1977 .

The opening of the station was combined with the completion of the 19.0 km railway line connecting the National Airport and the RFK Stadium and the opening of the Arlington Cemetery , Washington Ronald Reagan National Airport , Eastern Market , Capital South , L'Afant Plaza , Mac Pearson Square , Pentagon , Pentagon City , Potomac Avenue , Rosslyn , Smithsonian , Stadium Armor , Farragut West , Federal Center South West , Federal Triangle and Foggy Bottom - TWYu [5] . The yellow line has served the station since its opening on April 30, 1983 [6] .
