In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton gave Marine Le Pen 32.3% of the votes in the 1st round against 28.4% from Nicolas Sarkozy and 20.1% from Francois Hollande ; in the 2nd round in the canton defeated Sarkozy, who received 60.0% of the vote (2007 Round 1: Sarkozy - 30.8%, Jean-Marie Le Pen - 21.6%; Round 2: Sarkozy - 62.6%).
