Biography
Prince Vasily Fedorovich Gagarin, born in 1787. The son of the Russian officer Fedor Sergeyevich Gagarin and his wife, Praskovya Yuryevna Gagarina , nee Trubetskoy. Brother of Prince Fedor Fedorovich . He entered service on May 14, 1806 in the Kavalergardi Regiment with the standard junker and was promoted to cornet on November 10 of the same year. He participated with the regiment in the Prussian campaign from 1807 to August 10, 1808.
Gagarin filed a petition for his transfer to the Mariupol Regiment, but was promoted to assignment on August 24, with a transfer to the Ingermanland Dragoon Regiment, which remained until August 17, 1810, when he was transferred to the Dept Dragoon Regiment. From October 5, 1810, he was on the Balkan Peninsula and participated in the battles of Ruschuk and Malaya Slobodzee. December 24, 1811, due to illness, was dismissed from service, with the production of staff captains. There was no news of further circumstances of Gagarin’s life, except that only in March 1826 he was in Paris, and in March next year in Italy.
