Biography
Born in 1897 in a peasant family. He graduated from elementary school and from the age of 12 he worked with his carpenter father in the nearby villages and villages. During World War I, he was left without parents. He took part in the Civil War . Since 1930, he became the first chairman of the created collective farm and joined the CPSU (B.) .
He was drafted into the Red Army in November 1941.
On July 12, 1943, with the beginning of the Oryol strategic offensive operation, the 77th Guards Rifle Division went on the offensive in the vicinity of the village of Krivtsovo in the direction of Bolkhov . After crossing the Oka, the battalion of the 215th Guards Rifle Regiment advanced. On the outskirts of the village of Sivkova (Fetishchevo) [2] the battalion was stopped by machine gun fire, and then the Red Army soldier Lomakin, approaching the machine gun, covered the bunker embrasure with his body.
He was buried on the eastern outskirts of the village of Fetishchevo, subsequently reburied in a mass grave a kilometer north-east of the village of Krivtsovo .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 15, 1944, for the exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism of the guard shown to them, Red Army soldier Alexei Maksimovich Lomakin was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
Streets in Bolkhov , Kursk and in his native village are named after the hero. The name of the hero is carved on the memorial of Heroes of the Kursk region, installed on Red Square in the city of Kursk .
In the homeland of the hero in with. Dyakonovo, Oktyabrsky District, Kursk Region - Dyakonovo Secondary School, and also in the city of military glory Kursk - Secondary School No. 31, bear the name of Hero of the Soviet Union Alexei Maksimovich Lomakin.
