Thailand's rugby team represents Thailand in top-level international rugby matches. The team has been playing in World Cup qualifiers since the 1999 campaign . As of May 20, 2013, Thailand is ranked 65th in the IRB rating [1] .

History
The first match of the national team took place on March 8, 1969. Thailand largely lost to the Japanese in the away match (8:82). The first world championship Thailand could play was the 1999 Wales Cup. The team played in the first round of the Asian qualifying tournament, where they won and lost one match. After taking second place, the Thais dropped out of the list of applicants for a trip to the UK. The 2003 championship was also held without Thailand. The national team played in the second group of the qualifying cup, where it took third place.
A new attempt to qualify was also unsuccessful. The team lost both Sri Lanka and Singapore , completing performances. Since 2008, Thais have been competing in the Asian Cup of Five Nations. Initially, the team played in the second division, but by the 2009 season won the right to play in the first. In the debut season, the team dropped out of the Premier League and returned there following the results of the 2012 season. However, Thailand left the first division for the second time following the results of the first season of performances.
