Iran's rugby team ( Pers. تیم ملی راگبی یونیون ایران ) represents Iran in top-level international rugby matches. The team is controlled by the Rugby and Cricket Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The team held its first match on August 18, 2007. Persian rugby players beat a fairly experienced Pakistan national team with a score of 22:11. As of May 22, 2013, Iran is not included in the IRB rating [1] . The team became a member of the Asian Rugby Union in November 2005, later joining a global organization [2] . Now the team is playing in the second division of the Asian Cup of five nations.
