Horst Bulau ( born Horst Bulau , born August 14, 1962 in Ottawa , Canada ) is a Canadian ski jumper from 1979 to 1992. The only Canadian who in this sport managed to climb the podium and win the competition. Had thirteen victories in the World Cup .

Horst Bulau's career came mainly in the 1980s, when skiing still existed in parallel skiing . At that time, especially on the springboard in Czech Harrachov , there were many falls. Horst Bulau survived one of these falls.
Bulau four times participated in the Winter Olympic Games (in 1980 , 1984 , 1988 and 1992 ). At the individual stage of the 1988 Winter Olympics on the Great Springboard in Calgary, he took seventh place (the best performance in the history of Canadian ski jumping).
The Sports Federation of Canada awarded him the title Athlete of the Month three times: in March 1981, January 1982 and March 1983. In 1993, after the end of his sports career, Bulau was assigned to the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, and in 1994 to the Canadian Hall of Fame of ski jumping.
