History

In 1935, the Club Atletico San Isidro held a match with the Rosario team. After the meeting, the rivals held a traditional meeting at Salon Cullen, where only men could get. During dinner, one of the guests spilled wine on his trousers, which he then took off and continued to eat. Other rugby players, wanting to demonstrate solidarity, also took off their trousers and continued to dine.

This fact became known to one of the KASI athletes, who reported this to the management of his club. As a result, eleven players were suspended from playing for a period of one to two years. This punishment led to the fact that the team lost most of the matches of the season and finished the season in sixth place, while Rosario became the champion [1] . At this time, the disqualified players held several friendly matches, naming their union Abelleyra XV and choosing a new form for the game.

At the end of the year, Julio Urien was re-elected president of the club, and the punished rugby players decided to create their own full-fledged team. On December 14th, a meeting was held at Quinta Pueyrredon, at which it announced the creation of a new club, the San Isidro Club ( Spanish: San Isidro Club , SIC ) [2] . “Quinta” was built by Juan Martin de Pueyrredon in 1790 as a residence for recreation, but now the museum is located in the building [3] . The owners of Kinta leased it to rugby players for a year. The colors of the new club were chosen at the same meeting. The color scheme of “San Isidro” - white, blue and black - completely repeated the KASI palette [4] . Acute contradictions between the clubs take place today.

In 1939, the club moved to the suburb of Boulogne, where a new stadium was being built. At that time, San Isidro players won their first title, but already in 1946 the team dropped out of the top division. A year later, rugby players returned to the big leagues and became champions in 1948. Throughout the tournament, the team did not suffer a single defeat.

The next major victory came only in 1970. Since then, the club has become one of the most titled in the country. Rugby players "San Isidro" played in the UK (1972) and South Africa (1973). In the eighties, the club’s collection of trophies was enriched by six champion titles. On October 22, 1987, the team achieved a historic draw with the Australian national team (22:22) [3] . The victory over Fiji in 1980 (28:11) [3] became quite loud.

At the end of the XX and the beginning of the XXI century the team became the winner of eleven championships. The last success of this level was the victory in the 2011 Torneo de la URBA . In the final match, San Isidro athletes beat the rivals from Alumni. The trophy was 25 for the team [5] .

One of the most famous representatives of the club is Ernesto Guevara [6] . Asthma Che left the team at the insistence of his parents [6] .
