Silver Side Up - the third studio album of the Canadian rock band Nickelback, released September 11, 2001 in Canada and the United States . The album became very popular, once in the Billboard Hot 100 rating. The disc became platinum in Canada (eight times), in the USA (six times), in the UK (three times), in Australia (twice), and also in Germany . In many European countries, the album has become golden.

Randy Staub, who collaborated with bands like Metallica and U2, was invited to mix. During the promotion, Nickelback was assisted by producer Rick Parasher (Pearl Jam and Temple Of The Dog).

Silver Side Up quickly bought up: in just 4 months, about 3,000,000 copies were sold. And the ballad "How You Remind Me" broke all records for broadcasting. The song is not only constantly sounded on the waves of all radio stations, but also permanently entrenched in all the rock charts. And the song has achieved such popularity not only in the already conquered USA and Canada, but also in Europe . The grand success of this ballad is connected not only with melody and new, better sound. The whole thing rather in the lyrics, which is extremely emotional. This is not surprising, because “How You Remind Me” Chad Kruger wrote after a hard break with his girlfriend Jody. The vocalist of the group was so in love with her that he endured endless cavils and humiliating remarks. In the lyrics, Chad dealt with the personal experiences of childhood, in particular, in the song “Too Bad,” he condemned his father, who left the family.
