Purpose
The locomotive is designed to carry out heavy export, shunting and light trunk work on the railways of JSC Russian Railways and access roads of industrial enterprises of the 1520 mm gauge in temperate climates at ambient temperatures from + 40 ° C to −50 ° C.
History
The design development of the modular diesel locomotive was carried out jointly by the Bryansk Engineering Plant , the Czech company CZ LOKO and the Vilnius Locomotive Repair Depot. The locomotive was created on the basis of the main frame and the jawless trolleys of the TEM18DM shunting diesel locomotive using equipment supplied by CZ LOKO.
The diesel locomotive applied the modular layout principle, which made it possible to install a tower driver’s cab and a low hood. In terms of environmental performance, the diesel engine meets the requirements of the EURO-3 standard.
The prototype was released in July 2009.
Feature
The bonnet type diesel locomotive body consists of six functional modules: electrical equipment module; control cabins; diesel generator module; auxiliary drive module; cooling module and pneumatic module.
The locomotive is equipped with:
- Locat 3508/631 diesel generator consisting of: Caterpillar 3508B diesel engine (8CHN17 / 19) with a capacity of 970 kW (1320 hp) using antifreeze as a coolant; traction alternator type 1ТC2 631-6BO29T and auxiliary alternator type 1ТC2 631-6BO29P, manufactured by Siemens Drasov;
- electric transmission of alternating direct current;
- electronic control, monitoring, protection and diagnostics system;
- ACRV compressor unit 3.2 / 10 as part of a screw compressor with an asynchronous drive;
- electrodynamic brake with forced cooling;
- UKTOL unified set of braking equipment with a crane operator with remote control conv. Number 130
- Webasto system for preliminary heating of coolants with the engine turned off;
- AGS8 type grease lubricator;
- starter and onboard alkaline batteries.
Cabin Characteristics
The diesel locomotive is controlled from the cabin, raised above the hood. On the main frame, the cab is mounted on four silent blocks. The cab has a large glazed surface for a good view. Windshields with safety laminated glass, electrically heated and sunblinds have a negative slope of 10 °. The cabin has thermal and sound insulation and is equipped with two diagonally mounted control panels. Both consoles are equipped with equipment for full control of the locomotive. In the cab there are two sprung, adjustable in the longitudinal direction and the height of the driver’s chair. For heating, a Webasto air heating unit and four XEROS-4000 air heaters-heaters using heat from a diesel cooling system are installed in the cabin. Also, the cabin is equipped with air conditioning, Termofah tiles.
Operation
In February 2011, a prototype locomotive underwent operational tests on shunting, mining, mining and economic work in the locomotive depot Bryansk-II of the Moscow Railway.
Serial locomotives are operated on Lithuanian Railways and by private companies in Estonia.
In 2013, five diesel locomotives were delivered by Russian Railways , all the machines were assigned to the depot TCHE-2 Likhobory-Okruzhny.
In June 2015, 5 diesel locomotives were transferred from the TCHE-2 depot Likhobory-Okruzhny to the TChE-6 depot Moscow-Sortirovochnaya-Ryazanskaya. 5 diesel locomotives were operated at the stations of Perovo and Moscow-passenger-Kazan. In July-August 2018, all diesel locomotives were transferred to the TSE-1 depot Kaliningrad.
