Biography

Born February 5, 1986 in the city of Guarabira . Pupil of the youthful team of the football club "Juventude" [3] .

Marciu got into the main team in 2005, but debuted only in 2006. And so began his career at the Juventude Club. It took him time to gain a foothold in the main team, and over time he succeeded. In 2007, his game was highly praised, and he was recognized as the best left-back of the Gaucho League.

Marcio Azevedo as part of Metalist

From 2007 to 2008, he played the club for Fortaleza . There he won the Serens Championship .

On March 1, 2013, Marcio Azevedo transferred to Metalist . The Brazilian signed a contract with the Ukrainian club for four years. On March 18, in the match of the 21st round against Uzhgorod " Goverla ", Marcio made his debut in the championship of Ukraine . In his first season, Azevedo helped the club take the championship silver for the first time in its history.

On August 18, 2014, Azevedo transferred to Donetsk Shakhtar [4] . The transfer amount was 4 million euros. The agreement was designed for four years. Due to constant injuries, he could not win a place at the start of the team. On October 30, 2015, Marcio played in the championship against Lugansk Dawn (7: 1), after which he was injured and the next time in the official game went for the Pitmen only on February 16, 2017. It was a match of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League against Celta (1: 0), in which the Donetsk team had already played under the new coach Paulo Fonseca , and Marcio appeared on the field in the third minute compensated for the match, playing the role of “technical »Replacements. For Azevedo, it so happened that with the advent of Fonseca's coaching post, he stayed in a club infirmary. At the moment when each player of the team got the opportunity to prove himself and start all over with a “clean slate” with the new coach for Azevedo, this opportunity did not arise due to another injury. As a result, his compatriot Ismaily took advantage of his chance, staking out his left brow, and Azevedo who returned after the damage was content only with the role of a hopeless reservist.

In the 2017/18 season, the Pitmen became a kind of harbinger of setbacks. The Brazilian spent 5 games in the championship, 3 of which he started in the starting lineup. Shakhtar could not win all three of these matches - a defeat from Dawn (1: 2) and a draw against Steel (1: 1) and Chernomorets (0: 0). As a result, the Pitmen’s management made the only decision - to part with an already middle-aged performer.

On January 11, 2018, Azevedo transferred on a rental basis to PAOK . The contract is calculated until June 30, 2018 [5] . At the same time, the agreement with Shakhtar expires, after which the Brazilian will become a free agent. According to unofficial information, Shakhtar received 400 thousand euros for the rent of Marcio [6] .
