Biography

Born on March 8, 1914 in the village of Voznesenskoye (now Shcherbinovsky district of the Krasnodar Territory ). Lubyanetsky met the Great Patriotic War in Riga , where he served. A few months later he was recalled to Moscow to the Military Academy of Armored Forces named after I.V. Stalin . When the troops of Germany and its allies approached Moscow, the academy was evacuated to the city of Tashkent . Listeners were engaged from early morning until late at night, since the program had to be completed as soon as possible [1] .

On December 23, 1942, during an attack of a height of 201.8, the tank of the battalion commander was hit and caught fire. Lubyanetsky was wounded, however, jumping out of a burning tank, entered into an unequal battle with the German submachine gunners surrounding him and managed to destroy 10 soldiers from his personal weapons until he was killed [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 31, 1943 “for exemplary fulfillment of command assignments, shown courage and heroism in battles with Nazi invaders,” Ivan Fedoseevich Lubyanetskiy was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union [1] .
