Performance Director

“The story written by Neil Simon is very kind, life. Her characters are people without any bad habits and mental deviations. Fathers here do not marry daughters, mothers do not rape their sons. The heroes of the play “Barefoot in the Park” do not even suggest that this is possible in life. And besides, these are people who are not tormented by social problems, although they live in poverty. I will surprise the audience, but I will not say why. Let them watch the play. I can say that I’m not going to stage a circus. And what I want to do is not a performance with stars, but a performance-star . ”

- Evgeny Pisarev [1]

Performance Press

“In the 1967 Hollywood film adaptation, the main roles were played by Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. In the performance of the Theater. Pushkin is played by young stars [Vladimir Zherebtsov] and Anna Begunova. Subtle psychologism, irony, lyricism without sweetness - it is not surprising that in all countries the public likes to watch this play, and actors to play . ”

- Marina Shimadina, “Your leisure” [2]

“Household comedy was painted with Indian motifs - music, costumes, a bright purely Indian finale. And bearing in mind that “elephants are outlandish with us”, the performance cannot do without this symbol. The scenery (Maria Rybasova) is successful, but not without extremes. Performed at an angle, they make the audience nervous, worrying about actors playing literally over the abyss. However, the actors both hold on and play very confidently. ”

- Emilia Dementzova, “Our film” [3]

.

"The play cannot be called a theatrical copy of the Indian film. It has no sugary" sweetness "of feelings. It was replaced by sharpness and eccentricity. Each of the characters has some strange thing. The story of their adventures turned out to be lively, cheerful and shines with good humor. And besides , they balance so often at a dangerous height that Pisarev’s new work can easily be called “barefoot on the roofs” .
